This plant is native to western Argentina and Bolivia. This is a fast growing columnar cactus that branches from the base to form a medium shrub-like cluster and can grow to about 3-4 feet tall. The stems are a medium green with short yellow/brown spines. This plant grows best in full sun to partial shade. Water the plant in the summer and give little to none during the winter when it is dormant. The flower is very large, all white and they open at night, but can stay open through early morning.
